This shirt design is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the families and loved ones of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. All of the profits from the sale of this Mixed Blood Apparel design will go toward this initiative.
Interpretation of the design:
The three feathers on the front of the shirt stand together. The middle feather is bigger than the other two. It symbolizes the mother or woman/girl that has been murdered or gone missing. The two smaller feathers represent her children, relatives or loved ones standing beside her. The MMIWG represented by the middle feather is shining in the heavens. The colour purple is used on the shirt to represent honour and royalty. The pink to show the tenderness of women and girls. And the XOXO pattern represents affection and care.
The back of the shirt reads in Cree LOVE, then FOREVER in English, MMIWG and then Cree Syllabics for ONE FAMILY.
